Beautiful

This book is amazing! The pictures are absolutely gorgeous; each has a tiny paragraph accompanying it explaining what took the picture and what the picture is depicting. The pictures of Earth are especially stunning. If you have any interest in space whatsoever, you'll love this!

As the other reviewers noted, this is a wonderful book with beautiful photos from the NASA archives, each nicely captioned by the author - and I certainly recommend it. However, I have a quibble with what I believe to be an error in the caption for "Cepheid Variable" on page 131. The author implies that Edwin Hubble discovered that Cepheid variables can be used to determine an entity's distance from Earth. While Hubble certainly used the Cepheid variable "period-luminosity" relationship to show that the Andromeda 'nebula' was not part of the Milky Way galaxy - and, indeed, was a galaxy unto itself - the Cepheid period-luminosity relationship was discovered, not by Hubble, but by Henrietta Leavitt of the Harvard College Observatory. Beautiful photos for those space lovers!

I bought this book for my husband that loves all things "space". The photos in the book are very high quality and absolutely beautiful. The pages are thick and do not smudge or retain fingerprints. It looks wonderful on our coffee table.
The only downside to this, and isn't likely at fault by the seller, but rather the publisher is that it wasn't wrapped in a plastic bag or cover when shipped and was shipped with other items which marred the back of the book and upset me, but it was on the back slip cover so it isn't noticeable.
We love the book and the hubby is super happy with it! Certainly would recommend to others.
